As We Grow…
Joseph’s House has so many good memories. As we begin our 6th year we are excited to announce the expansion of our programs and the moving of our offices!
Here are the details (provided by funding from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation) :
Our new driver transports women and their children to appointments, to work, and to the community center for programs reducing dependence on the challenges of navigating an inadequate public transportation system.
The new mental health counselor provides supportive services for our moms at the community center without the hassle of making outside appointments or working around insurance carriers. This means that moms can get the services they need to move beyond many barriers to success.
Our new Education & Life Skills Coordinator is expanding programming by covering more diverse and applicable topics, including more recreation & leisure opportunities, as well as serving more Exodus moms who live in the community. More individualized needs are met and quality of life increases with new opportunities for knowledge and self awareness.
Our new childcare space allows moms to attend program while their children are cared for by our staff and volunteers. Services are easy to access as childcare continues to be available while the moms learn and grow. The resources for this service were made available through the support of the Jim & Juli Boeheim Foundation.
Indirect care staff offices will move from the east side of Syracuse to the community center, bringing staff closer to the women and children. By drawing closer to the people we serve, our information becomes more up-to-date, more personal, and our community becomes more united as we serve more women and children in the Central New York region.
