house manager

The Executive Director seeks an experienced and motivated professional to work closely with the residents and staff of Joseph’s House in providing a safe, Catholic Christian home, and a firm but loving atmosphere. The position requires an individual who is motivated to work with residents and staff from varying backgrounds, educations and cultures. Responsibilities include: managing the household operations budget, ensure proper food supply and properly manage JH funds; enforcing all household policies and procedures and work closely with residents and staff to achieve safety and compliance; hiring, scheduling, training and supervising all household staff to ensure successful operation of the house; scheduling outside volunteer service projects and events; organizing, planning and coordinating special events at Joseph’s House with the assistance of other staff members; ensuring that any local, state or federal safety regulations are met and maintained in the house.

The position is a full-time non-exempt daytime position from 7:30 AM- 3:30 PM. Responsibilities include: coordinating the daycare program, including daily activity schedules and meals; maintaining and overseeing the daycare schedule with volunteers and staff, based upon the needs of the residents; recruiting, interviewing, training and supervising volunteers to assist in the operation of the daycare; providing child care when necessary as well as filling in daycare shifts when needed; maintaining records for each child and volunteer including shots, safe training, emergency contact and track staff/volunteer hours; maintaining the daycare space ensuring everything is kept clean, organized and in good condition; overseeing the operations of the House in the absence of the House Manager; and ensuring resident chores are appropriately completed, complete rooms checks and distribute supplies to residents on a as needed basis, and in the absence of or in coordination with the House Manager.

Weekend Resident Assistant 

The positions run from 7:30 AM- 3:30 PM, 3:30 PM- 11:30 PM, 11:30 PM- 7:30 AM, every other Saturday and Sunday with additional shifts occasionally available. Responsibilities include: making sure residents complete chores before leaving the house; advising residents with cooking, cleaning, and childcare; and light housework. Applicants should be comfortable being the person in charge during their shift. Must be responsible, dependable, and willing to work with women and children from all backgrounds. Must also be able uphold the mission and values of Joseph’s House.
