Full-Time case manager
The House Manager & Executive Director seek an experienced and motivated professional to work closely with the residents of Joseph’s House in providing counseling, guidance, and advocacy. The position requires an individual who is motivated to work with residents from varying backgrounds, educations and cultures to help them overcome the challenges in their lives and get them on the road to independence.
Essential responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Assists in the fulfillment of the Joseph’s House Mission and exercises good stewardship in all tasks and activities.
Practices Catholic faith, and displays an operative understanding of the precepts of the Catholic Church.
Completes the Intake process in collaboration with the House Manager and orients new residents to the program.
Conducts one-on-one counseling sessions. Assists in formulation of goals with residents. Links residents to necessary community services.
Coordinates and oversees Evening Life Skills Programs.
Responsible for follow up case work on former residents for a minimum of one year.
Maintains resident information, both hard copy and computer based, on all cases assigned.
Ensures that residents make and are able to keep their outside appointments
When necessary, escorts individuals on trips outside establishment to obtain needed services.
Assists in the implementation of enrichment programs and special events.
Chaperones group-sponsored trips and social functions.
If the individual is also a “live-in” she would be expected to normally be in the residence four nights per week.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Skills & Abilities
Valid NYS driver’s license required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to help instruct residents in day to day skills such as cooking, cleaning reading bus schedules and childcare.

Applicants must be willing and able to work closely with other team members and volunteers and collaborate regularly with internal staff and board members, demonstrating an ability to lead and coordinate as work is delegated.
This position is a salaried/exempt/12-months and includes regular off-business/evening hours.
Weekend Resident Assistant
This is a weekend position. You must be available approximately every other Saturday and Sunday for 8 hr shifts. Responsibilities include: making sure residents complete chores before leaving the house; advising residents with cooking, cleaning, and childcare; and light housework. Applicants should be comfortable being the person in charge during their shift. Must be responsible, dependable, and willing to work with women and children from all backgrounds. Must also be able uphold the mission and values of Joseph’s House.
